Which Area Suits Which Tile Best?

Every region like interior or exterior, has unlike properties so, also their needs vary. Either we talk about domestic or commercial building every area differs and accordingly requires tile to get fit. There are wide ranges of tile varieties available to choose to overwhelm your home. Now question comes how to choose tile. For this, 2 types of ratings are being considered while installing the tiles PEI (Porcelain Enamel Indicator) rating and MOH (Method of Hardness) rating.  The rating between 1 to 5 in both the scales is considered for low traffic areas and the rating between 6 to 10 is considered to stand firmly for high traffic areas.

Now, your job is to understand which area of your home has low and high traffic then accordingly you can decide which tile suits what area best.

In this article, we have taken care of some places. Accordingly, you can adopt an idea while going through this article.

1.      Kitchen area- Unquestionably, kitchen is the high traffic area so; it requires tiles with high rating of PEI and MOH. Unglazed or porus tiles will not suit this place. If you want to obscure your nicking and breaking then go for porcelain tiles. It will hide your dark secrets.

2.      Bathroom area- For this you can go for any tile but the only one thing you have to take in caution is slipping factor. Large tiles are better for bathroom floor because it doesn’t provide resistance to slipping factor. If you want to go for marbels floor then, prefer small marbels. Smaller the marble safety will be more.

3.      Playroom area- For kids room always go for high traffic rating tiles which calls for less care. And always try to prefer large tiles so that dirt and stains will get less chance to pile up in grouts also will require less cleaning.

Never go for rating below 2 in PEI and below 3 in MOH for high traffic areas as, it may lead to destruction of tiles and will cause you a heavy loss.
